All is quiet

Blogging so far is something that is just for entertainment to me but I am starting to warm up a little that it can be used in a classroom setting. I think when I become a teacher, I will be able to incorporate it so the students can go on and see what their homework is as well as what I have planned for the future just incase they forget what was covered in class. I hope children will be able to utilize this well.

Today I had a quiet day with only one class which is called Math 196a- Tutoring in Schools. This is a class that puts students in real Math classrooms around Tucson and requires us to tutor 3 hours per week and we get paid $10 per hour. Not bad for a part time job right? Tommorow should be an academic filled day with 4 classes spanning from 930 am- 445 pm. This weekend should be another very busy one with my radio show, homework, the Cal basketball game and various parties.

Right now I am looking for a summer job and with the economy this might not be as easy I think despite being an ocean certified lifeguard at home. I hope to lifeguard at a private beach full time instead of doing that and teaching swimming at a day camp during the week.

In New York sports, the Devils won a thrilling OT game last night in Toronto with a Johnny Oduya goal with 11 seconds left until the shootout. Martin Broduer is now 3 wins short of tying Patrick Roy with 551 career wins as a goaltender. The Rangers made a couple of moves to make a run this year at the cup. Alex Rodriguez has a cyst in his left hip which many people are linking to his past usage of steroids. It will be interesting to see how he comes back to hopefully help the Yankees win their 27th world championship. Soon I will be getting ready for the NFL draft by doing a comprehensive round by round prediction for the Giants that will be published on Bleacher Report.

Spring Break Plans and Other notes

I had intended on going to Mexico for Spring Break but with all of the speculation and possible drug wars on the border I have opted to go back to New York and enjoy some good home cooking for ten days, not the worst thing ever huh? While home I will be taking a trip down to the University of Delaware to visit some friends, hopefully see a Knicks game or finally see a Devils game in their two year old arena- The Prudential Center.

New York City and the surrounding areas were downed with a big late season snow storm but as usual my mom said various media outlets over hyped it. Some of my friends in various colleges in upstate New York had the day off which made me realize how much I miss snow days from high school. Too bad I guess I will have to live with the temperatures in the 80's.

Something that really annoyed me today was seeing a girl with a Dallas Cowboys t-shirt and New York Yankees hat on. The Cowboys are a team that I despise, while I absolutely love the New York Yankees so I didn't know what to think of all of it.

In New York Sports world, NFL Columnist for the NY Daily News- Gary Myers is calling for the Jets to trade for Jay Cutler after Cutler was offended by the Broncos shopping him over this past weekend. The Jets have added another former Raven, this time it is safety Jim Leonhard. The Devils are playing in Toronto and actually as I am writing this post, the Devils have just gone up 1-0 !!!!!! The Rangers have added Sean Avery the biggest pest in the world who annoyed my Devils last year in the playoffs in their 4-1 defeat in the 1st round. Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter have each joined their respective countries as practice for the World Baseball Classic begins.

That's all for now,

LRC 320

My thoughts on this class-
So far I am enjoying the struggle of applying technology, but it is satisfying to figure stuff out. So far I have created
video
powerpoint
website
Throughout this class, I have really learned to be patient as well as to really focus, particularly in web-page creation and HTML because being off by one character can screw up your whole page. I spent 2 hours in the ILC today with someone from "The Zone" figuring out what was wrong with the page and the lady was very nice and patient and I realized that, if I could put that type of effort into the class from now on, I should get an A. Now I am all caught up with my web-page and feel confident for the future.

Today I had my interview for the College of Education and the interviewers seemed impressed that I was able to handle 19 credits, a job, being an officer in my fraternity, a radio show as well as training to be an Arizona Ambassador. I am sort of nervous for my admission despite having all of that to go along with a 3.24 GPA.

This whole idea of blogging is kind of cool, I have done one before to write about the New York Giants from the 2008 Off-Season through the first 2 games of the 2008 season as something to keep me occupied without football. That blog can be found here.

In New York Sports today, CC Sabathia and Hideki Matsui both took part in simulated games in Tampa, FL at the Yankees Spring Training Facility. The Giants and Jets both had great weekends in the free agent market. The New Jersey Devils are playing some of the best hockey in the NHL and go rather unnoticed around the country due to the overexposure of the shortcomings of the Rangers. The Mets ace, Johan Santana, has some elbow soreness and frankly if I was a fan of the Mets, I would be very concerned.

Tommorow I will post how my Spring Break plans were altered a lot and reflect on the snow storm that hit the New York Metropolitan area.

That's all for Today,
